My first job, when I was a teenager, was at a military base in Germany, as part of a program to give military dependents summer jobs while their parents were stationed in a foreign country. I worked just long enough to earn enough money to buy my first computer - an Atari 800 - and then quit. I bought a Basic cartridge (this was back in 1984 - long before internet downloads), and learned Basic well enough to help my high school computer teacher teach the other kids. In the following years, I came to love Nintendo, Mario, Zelda, Tetris, Galaga, Ultima, Myst...
Despite my love of computers (and video games), I ended up studying physics and astronomy and music in college, and then later, robotics. I worked for NASA as a robotics engineer, but then left to raise my growing family. As my kids grew older, their love of video games increased, and I decided to try my hand at developing some games myself. My kids loved Roblox, so I learned to create Roblox games. Now, I have ventured into the world of Unity and Steam, and am loving being able to connect all my major interests: computers, music, story-telling, and even art. I am not too skilled at art, but I have found pixel art to be amazingly like cross-stitch (another of my hobbies - I've published designs in cross stitch magazines in the past). My science and space background is also a source of inspiration for game ideas, and I have great plans for the future!
